Setting up mobile statistics is easy and fast – now we take a look at how to set it up.

Open Nifty Stats PRO.

1. As the first step you need to enable mobile statistics and set them up to work correctly.

To get a better idea let us explain how mobile statistics work. As soon as you enable mobile statistics in Nifty Stats Pro you can start downloading stats. As soon as statistics of all your affiliate programs or advertising networks are downloaded, the file will be encrypted by your computer and sent out to your server. The file will remain encrypted on your server. When you enter the address to the browser in your mobile phone (we recommend Opera Mini) you will be taken to the site where you will be asked a password to decipher statistics (you can set up the password yourself in the settings). If the password was entered correctly your statistics will be shown. These mobile statistics are refreshed after a time period pre-set in your Nifty Stats settings for statistics upload. One of the conditions of the correct functioning of mobile statistics if you are out of your office is to have a Nifty Stats instance running on your PC or notebook.

So let us take a look at how to set up mobile statistics in Nifty Stats PRO.

2. Now we enable mobile statistics and set everything up to work correctly.

3. Here we enter the password. All statistics uploaded to your server are encrypted so no one else can see them except for you.

4. Here you can setup the GROUP for which mobile statistics will be created. If you select ALL you will have access to all affiliate programs and advertising networks you have in your Nifty Stats. If you only wish to monitor certain affiliate programs or advertising networks you just need to create a new Group, copy the affiliate programs you wish to monitor there, and select this group in this setting.

5. Now you set up the ftp address, the port, the FTP login and the FTP password. It is very important to set up the Directory! If you do not know the exact FTP Directory please contact your server administrator. If you enter e.g. www_root/mystats/, Nifty Stats will automatically create this directory. If you already do have this directory and enter the existing name, Nifty Stats will rewrite it! So please be careful.

Note: Never enter the root of your domain as the FTP Directory!

6. Now that we set up mobile statistics we can start downloading stats; all current values will be uploaded to your server once the downloading process is finished.

7. Here you can see that the statistics downloading process has been launched. The blue icon means that those mobile statistics have not yet been uploaded to your server.

8. Once all your statistics have been downloaded they are uploaded to your server where they become available to your mobile. The green icon indicates that the statistics have been uploaded, you can also check the time of last synchronization.

You can also launch the synchronizing process manually.

9. Now let us take a look at your statistics through your mobile telephone.

10. In your mobile phone go to your browser (we recommend Opera Mini ) and enter the address you selected in mobile statistics. You will be taken to the login site where you have to enter the password to decode your statistics.

11. Here you can see your real statistics uploaded by Nifty Stats to your server while you were away from your PC or notebook.

12. Here you can change the time period of statistics and see statistics for different periods.

13. And that is all – we believe this tutorial helped you to use Nifty Stats in a better and more efficient way. If you still have any questions to improve Nifty Stats please do not hesitate and contact us! www.niftystats.com

HOW TO CORRECTLY ADD AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM, AFFILIATE NETWORK OR AN ADVERTISING NETWORK?
READ OUR TUTORIAL!

Welcome in our tutorial where we show you how to use Nifty Stats PRO easily and efficiently. We will explain how to correctly add a new affiliate program, affiliate network or an advertising network to Nifty Stats PRO, and how to make sure that the affiliate program or advertising network works properly. Adding is simple but the affiliate program or advertising network will not function well if not properly set up.
That is why I’ll show you now how to set everything up so that Nifty Stats PRO shows your sales statistics correctly.

1. First I need to choose where to file my affiliate program. Nifty Stats allows any program to be added under INCOME or EXPENSES.
INCOME – use this section for any programs which generate you money, e.g. ClickBank.
EXPENSES – use this section to file only advertising networks where you spend money, e.g. facebook.com.
So if you have a running campaign on Facebook, Nifty Stats will regularly display how much money has been drawn from your account on Facebook. I decided to add the ClickBank affiliate network… and therefore I select INCOME and do the following…

2. Click on Add Program

3. Enter the name of the program we are looking for. I am adding ClickBank.

4. …and we click on Add Selected.

5. The Properties dialog appears and we can set all parameters to make sure that the affiliate network correctly downloads all sales statistics.

6. Display Name is the name of the program – you can change it if you like.

7. Here you can specify whether you want to activate or deactivate download statistics for the selected program. I want to activate them so I leave True checked.

8. This is a very important thing to set up correctly. Many of you write to us that when you add a new affiliate program only the last month’s worth of statistics loads up. This is where the problem arises. You need to set the time range to begin on a different date, like the date when you registered for the affiliate program. Let’s say that you have been a member since July 12, 2007 and you have been promoting affiliate programs since then. If you enter the date of July 12, 2007, Nifty Stats will download your statistics from that date. Once the stats have downloaded you can view graphs of sales, clicks, etc. and all this will be stored in Nifty Stats. You can open Nifty Stats and analyze your sales and clicks at any time and for any period – either the whole duration of your membership or just a chosen time frame. Note: downloading the statistics into Nifty Stats may take dozens of minutes depending on the length of the time period you chose.

9. Use this function if you are sharing the affiliate account with someone else. If you enter 50%, Nifty Stats will only take up one half of the final amount you have earned in the affiliate program in its statistics.

10. Enter your login data here.

11. This is where you set the download frequency. If you set it to 1 hour, Nifty Stats will log on to the affiliate server every hour to download updated stats of sales, clicks, etc.

12. I am setting the frequency to 1 hour.

13. Nifty Stats displays a small console window informing you whenever a sale comes up. If you want to be notified of your sales, leave this function Enabled.

14. The Payout function shows you how much money the affiliate program ‘owes’ you. Nifty Stats knows how much you have earned and if you enter these values correctly you will never have to wonder whether all the money you’ve earned has really arrived at your bank account or your home.

15. The first thing is to enable this function.

16. Next, set the amount that the affiliate program is remitting. If, for example, your profile for the affiliate program specifies a minimum payout of $500, enter this amount.

17. Enter here how much money you have received over the whole period which you defined earlier in DOWNLOAD STATISTICS SINCE. This is important in order to obtain correct figures. If you received $32,000 from the affiliate program, enter this number in the following field. I received nothing and so I leave a zero in this field.

18. Enter the amount that the affiliate program is charging for making the payment to your bank account, for drawing a check, etc…

19. Use this function to add amounts received from the affiliate program, i.e. if you received a check for $325 enter this amount here. Whenever you receive the money you have earned by check or at your bank account it is vital to enter the amount through Add Payment. Nifty Stats then uses the downloaded sales statistics to calculate the outstanding due amount that the affiliate program will send you at the next payout.

20. Now click on OK to save your settings.

21. That is all. Now the ClickBank affiliate network is set up properly. As soon as you save the settings you can click on Download Now and the software will download all the statistics since the date which you entered in the affiliate network settings.

NATS campaign tracking in Nifty Stats!

NATS campaign tracking in Nifty Stats!

NATS campaign tracking in Nifty Stats!

Not long ago by your requests we have improved downloading of NATS statistics and the way that Nifty Stats is browsing through and is downloading your actual statistics from campaign also which you have set in your affiliate program.

This is a great feature mainly for webmasters who are promoting affiliate programs using different sources, for example on blogs, free sites, or on other niched sites.

If you have a sponsor which uses NATS system as its affiliate application then it’s enough to login to the member section at your affiliate program, click in the menu on the LINK CODES and the description will lead you how to create a new campaign….

From NATS text:

“Step 1: Choose Your Campaign…
Campaigns are a means of grouping your traffic for stats reporting. You can create as many campaigns as you would like and name them as you see fit. You might have a campaign for exit traffic, each of your sites, purchased traffic, etc. If you would like, click here to Create a New Campaign. If you do not wish to use campaigns please choose Default. The default campaign can be used as a normal campaign and will always exist.”

Here is a visual look:

In the affiliate section you set the campaign, then you log out from your affiliate account, you open Nifty Stats Pro and let the software download statistics from your affiliate program.

If you proceeded correctly then all your campaigns will be visible in the following way:
Campaign NATS - Nifty Stats

Then if your stats have been downloaded you can compare each individual campaign between affiliate programs.

You can reflect then each graph by sales, rebills, traffic etc.  Also you can examine your sales, clicks… data in real time in the Report tab.

And how do you enable campaign tracking in NATS systems? It’s easy. Choose your sponsor, which uses NATS affiliate system. Click on Properties and choose  DOWNLOAD TYPE and choose Campaigns.

New GROUP and how to use it ( Sales from my blogs, facebook, investing money into campaign etc … )

Nifty Stats Pro contains a useful function – you can create new groups of affiliate programs, affiliate networks or advertising networks.

I personally prefer to divide the statistics up in a transparent way. So I would know how much did I made, but also how much did I expend. In this point of view you may think that the GROUP feature has no point. Of course you don’t need it if you have only a few affiliate programs in the database or if you have only one campaign on Facebook, but you will appreciate it if you promote many affiliate programs or you have many campaigns running.

I personally promote around 200 affiliate programs, which needs well managed groups and of course early notification of sales ( so about good or bed sales of the product ) which is promoted for example on my blog.

But I’ll be specific.

For example I’ve a BLOG where I promote 20-30 products, so therefore I simply group these companies under one folder ( see the picture ) and I’ll label it SALES FROM MY BLOG. And I’ll proceed similarly with other groups, for example I have an advertising campaign on Facebook and I want to have a good overview about it for the whole day, week or perhaps the whole month, so I’ll move Facebook into one group.

So this way I’ll create groups just like I need them ( check out the picture ) so your whole work system is divided and rearranged.
